Hello ~ welcome to the first post recording the start of our veggie garden.
There is a little bit about us over there on the side - A Garden for 3 Families ~ Toil to Table - take the time to have a look, meet us and know our goals.
Currently we have the space allocated, to be weeded. There are two smaller raised beds, to be weeded. The water tank is here, it's base is made and, once the area is weeded, guttering can be put in across the garage and we can start filling. Getting pro-active, we may even get the accessible side flowing in at least ~ we've had a fair bit of rain lately!
Ideally, through to October will be spent clearing those previously mentioned weeds, perhaps getting additional soil in for the BigBed and maybe even some type of raised edging support. We've tyres at the ready and, depending on where we are moon wise, should get some in very very very soon!
☮~Mands❤ has sketches of nursery ideas to enable wet, windy, icy, miserably cold days like today can still be productive with seed trays & seedlings, getting food stock ready - maybe even on-selling or trading with others in the community. With the convenience of a local hire business and a major garden centre up the road ~ we're hoping to record some of the items needed (or wanted) to undertake specific projects.
Pictures are coming, plus the handy pallet gates built from old pallets and using a few odds & sods from the shed.

Welcome and here's hoping the progress is as entertaining as it is productive!
